Joomla is the core Content Management System (CMS) that we use for reasons explained on our technology page but for most people, which even a basic understanding of the internet and an ability to learn, Joomla is easy enough to pick up and get started with.
Most people will quickly and easily be able to publish news articles for example, add product pages, images and much more with little, if any training being required.
More complex elements such as building menus and reordering them to suit your needs, building custom modules to promote certain areas or elements of your site do sometimes require a little help, at least to get you started.
Of course for all our clients we offer free email support when we build a site for you, just ask us and we will help you.
For more ongoing training requirements we can assist with on-site training if required or remote training using remote desktop services and suchlike to keep your costs down.
Each has its place and each we will advise on in specific cases as, sometimes training is not the best or cheapest solution to a specific task.
remote joomla training
Remote training is a low cost way of having us provide assistance in specific areas and one we recommend the most as it is generally more suitable for most areas where required.
It is best suited to specific tasks or areas that you need help with, say for example, you want to build a new module but you are not quite sure how to go about that or, how that these will interact with other parts of your site. Or, you want to integrate social media to your site. Even if you just want to know how to organise a news feed.
It is tasks such as these that remote training is best suited to as, you will almost always have a general working knowledge of who the site works, you just need help in a specific area to carry out a specific task.
This is more relevant when it is more than a one-off occurrence and you are likely to require to carry out this task again as, if it is just a one time item you want then we can just do it for you, probably cheaper than it would be to provide training to do it.
on site joomla training
On site training to use Joomla is best suited to new users being introduced and taught how to best use Joomla and how to get the most out of it.
We will show you how to adapt pages to suit your organisation’s needs, how to edit and publish items and much more from the very basics of what to do along with the best security practices and also how to make sure your content is search engine friendly.
Depending on your expertise and familiarity in working with web based systems this will typically take from a few hours to a day.
On site training is not something we usually recommend unless you have staff using your site that require to be trained in order to do so or, you need the added assurance from being trained in the use of the system. We say this as, most clients in our experience, are perfectly able to use Joomla with little help from us other than for specific tasks.
